CJ Wilson and the Angels Pitching

While there are legitimate questions about some of the Angels spending and their starting pitchers are 49-52 with a 4.34 ERA, no one can criticize the CJ Wilson signing. In his two years since joining the Angels, Wilson is tied for the most starts in the American League, and with Garrett Richards carrying a 2.81 earned run average since the Allstar Break, if they can trade for a couple of young arms—which Jerry DiPoto did at the trading deadline but was overruled—they can build for 2014 with Jered Weaver, Wilson, Richards and Jason Vargas. If Jerry DiPoto had been allowed to trade Howie Kendrick to the Dodgers for Zach Lee and Chris Withrow at the deadline, things would look a lot better.
