Cubs interested in Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo

The Cubs have talked to Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo about their vacant managerial job, but will not have any further discussions until the Red Sox are through playing. Lovullo’s managed the Red Sox triple-A team in Pawtucket, he has worked with John Farrell for three years, and he seems a strong candidate to implement the baserunning philosophies Farrell’s staff has brought to the Red Sox. He is a very energetic person who is seen as a good mentor to help develop the young talent the Cubs will have coming up in Chicago in 2015, a group that will include a number of outstanding Latin American prospects.
