Emilio Bonifacio finds new home with White Sox

After playing for 4 different teams in the last 2 years, Emilio Bonifacio finds himself heading back to Chicago. The White Sox and Bonifacio agreed to a 1-year $4 million deal with a club option for 2016. This will be his 8th MLB club.

The White Sox’ primary use for Bonifacio should be against lefties. However with solid plate numbers against righties, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him in more of an everyday role. But even if he finds himself out of the lineup when facing righties, he remains a great option coming off the bench. With at least 25 stolen bases each season since 2011, Bonifacio is an excellent option as a pinch runner. Moreover, his true value comes as the ultimate utility player. Between the Cubs and the Braves last season, Bonifacio played second, shortstop, third, and all three outfield positions.
