Fielder vs. the field in intentional walks

Prince Fielder waiting for a pitch in the zone

If you add up the total number of intentional passes that the Padres, Royals, Astros, Orioles, and Yankees have received (7), you still wouldn’t equal the total received by Prince Fielder all by his big self (9).

As pointed out by my colleague Lee Sinins, Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder’s nine intentional walks in April are an AL record (he got #9 yesterday, but even at 8, he had set the record). (Elias) It is also a Rangers record for IBB in any month, since the team moved to Texas (old: 7, Juan Gonzalez, July 1996) and the Senators/Rangers record is held by Frank Howard (10, July 1969). (Elias)

Fielder led the AL in IBB in 2012, with the Tigers. If he leads with the Rangers, he will become the first player in AL history to lead the league with different teams and just the third player in MLB history to lead the league with different teams (Eddie Murray, Orioles & Dodgers; Barry B*nds, Pirates & Giants).
