Time to check the mileage: Most used pitchers since 2010

Since 2010, Justin Verlander has thrown almost 1000 more pitches than any other pitcher. What this tells me is that Justin has been able to stay healthy and in great form throughout that time period. From a Tiger’s point of view, you have no choice but to be happy with this, as you have been getting about as great of a return on your 200 million dollar investment that you could ask for. And as long as he is able to stay in top form and good health, there is no reason to reduce the work load. However, it would behoove rookie manager Brad Ausmus and the Tiger staff to monitor Verlander’s pitch counts very closely going forward, as I am sure they already do.
